Professional Laminate Flooring Supply & Installation in Abbotsford
What you Need to Know About Laminate Flooring
Modern laminate is no longer the "cheap" flooring of the 90s. It is a high-density fiberboard (HDF) core topped with a photographic layer and a clear "wear layer."
-
The AC Rating: We only supply laminate with a minimum AC4 rating (Commercial Grade), ensuring it stands up to Abbotsford’s active families and pets.
-
The Click System: Our precision-milled locking systems ensure a gap-free finish that feels solid underfoot.

Advantages: The Pros & Cons
| Feature | ✅ The Pros (Advantages) | ❌ The Cons (Disadvantages) |
| Scratch Resistance | Superior Protection: Harder surface than LVP; excellent for big dogs and high-traffic hallways. | Brittle Impact: While hard to scratch, a very heavy dropped object can occasionally chip the surface. |
| Visual Realism | Authentic Look: High-definition printing often looks more like real wood grain than vinyl does. | Repeat Pattern: Depending on the brand, you may see the same plank pattern every 6–10 boards. |
| Installation | Floating Floor: Fast installation over foam underlayment which provides excellent sound dampening. | Expansion Gaps: Requires strict adherence to perimeter gaps to prevent "buckling" in BC’s humidity. |
| Eco-Friendly | Sustainable: Often made from recycled wood fibers and sustainable forestry products. | Moisture Risk: Standard laminate can swell if water sits on the joints (unless using Waterproof Laminate). |
| Price Point | Budget-Friendly: Often the most cost-effective way to get a "High-End" look in a Whole Home Remodel. | Replacement: Like LVP, it cannot be sanded down. Damaged sections must be unclicked and replaced. |
Types of Laminate Flooring
Water-Resistant Laminate: New technology allows for 24–72 hour surface water protection—perfect for kitchens.
Textured/Hand-Scraped: Provides a rustic feel that hides dust and footprints better than smooth finishes.
High-Gloss: Offers a modern, piano-finish look (best for low-traffic formal areas).
Maintenance Tips
-
Dust Mop: Use a microfiber mop for daily cleaning.
-
Specialized Cleaners: Only use "Laminate-safe" cleaners. Never use wax or oil-based soaps.
-
Spills: Wipe up liquid immediately to prevent the HDF core from absorbing moisture.
Choosing the Right Laminate Flooring
Thickness Matters: We recommend 10mm or 12mm planks. Thicker planks feel more like "real wood" and are less likely to have "hollow" sounds.
Underlayment: Don't skimp here. A high-quality 3-in-1 underlayment provides moisture protection, sound reduction, and thermal insulation.
